Sherwood Art Week- it’s all over now!

As yesterday was the last day of Sherwood Art Week I’m starting this week with a round up post of the whole week.

Many of the shops in the area turned their windows over to locals artists and crafts people, here’s a few of my favourites, I’ve included links to websites as possible and I apologise for the dodgy photography, it’s so tricky to take photos through glass!

1- Helen Lamont, Illustration (Instagram account)

2- Sophie Robins, Sophie Robins Mosaics

3- Lucy Hall, Juicy Glass

4- Beryl Winch, Mini B

5- Mandy Barnes, Textile Art,

6- Kirsteen Hoare, Made By Stitch Studio

The exhibition I took part in showed many different mediums of work from local artists, including sculpture, watercolour, textiles and photography.

1 Janet Brown, Janet Brown Art

2 Benjamin Michael Clubbs Coldron, Paint, Pastel, Wood

3 Philippa Rice, Crochet Sculpture and Art

4 Oksana Holbrook, Oksana Originals

I always love to see the yarn bombing, this year the whole of Sherwood was pompom bombed! My children loved these lovely pompom sculptures.

And here’s a few photos of my work from the exhibition. I really enjoyed the whole experience, it was great to meet some of the artists and makers who were taking part. The private view was a really nice way to show some friends and family what I’ve been up to for the last few months!

As I didn’t make any sales the embroidery I made for the exhibition will be put in my Folksy shop, and will be available far the craft fair I’m doing next week at the Creative Quarter in Sneinton Market, Nottingham.

I also made a couple of purchases from the Secret Garden Craft Fair, for my mums birthday, I bought this lovely card from Amy Primarolo, the cute trinket dish from Rolling Roses and the little badge from Faye Baines.

And I think that’s it! I hope you’ve enjoyed my virtual tour of the Sherwood Art Week, and if there’s any more info you want on it please check their website here. Thank you so much to all the organisers, it’s been great, see you next year!

  1. I was so sorry to have missed this! Unfortunately it clashed with other plans i had, including helping my dad run a stall at the beer festival (he does soooo much for me, I couldn’t say no!). I did catch some of the art in shops, and loved Juicy Glass. What’s the craft fair at Sneinton Market? Is it the Friday Night event? I’m local so go there often.

    1. It is the Friday Night Market I’m going to be at, I’ve not been before so I’m looking forward to it!
The Juicy Glass was really lovely, it was my parents favourite! Xx
